You don’t always need some genius Amazon strategy to beat your competitors. Sometimes all thats needed is to target your weaker competitors and let Amazon take care of the rest.
To show this works we tried two ways of running ads. First, when we told Amazon to show our ad across the whole product category we made about $40k in sales in 2 weeks. Secondly, when we only targeted a small list of hand picked competitor brands it only made about $3k.
This gap happens because instead of just chasing a few competitors, we told Amazon to put us all over the category but only next to listings that are easy to beat.
Here’s the setup (only do this if you’ve got 4+ stars and really competitive pricing):
1) Target the category and filter to products under 4 stars. This way your ad shows up next to stuff shoppers don’t trust (things with bad reviews and low ratings).
2) Target the category and filter to products priced higher than yours - so you look like the better deal without cutting down your price.
The result is more visibility + more clicks + more sales. If you’re in a huge category then this is a straight up shortcut to better profit.
A lot of Amazon sellers worry they have leaks in their Amazon ads. If you want us to take a look and find any leaks you have comment "Audit" and re-post this post.
