Is it actually possible to live the โwho, not howโ philosophy as an Amazon seller?
The first time I first read ๐๐ฉ๐ฐ ๐๐ฐ๐ต ๐๐ฐ๐ธ by Dan Sullivan it kind of broke my brain. The core idea is simple: your job is to decide what needs to happen, then find the right person to make it happen. You focus on direction. Someone else handles execution.
On paper, it sounds obvious. In practice, Amazon feels like the worst possible place to apply it.
Seller Central is built to pull you into the weeds. Repricing. Images. Listings. Inventory. Cases. Every screen encourages you to do the thing yourself. So most sellers do. Even when they have help, they hover. They override. They โjust fix it quickly.โ
So here is the real question. Can you actually live this philosophy honestly on Amazon?
Can your role be limited to decisions only?
You decide the price. You decide whether images are working. You decide what gets tested next and what gets killed. You decide what matters this week. Then someone else executes, every time, without you stepping in to do the task yourself.
I know I haven't mastered it. Not even f-ing close.
Because the moment you step in to do the work, you are no longer operating as the โwho.โ You are back to being the โhow.โ And once that happens, your business is capped at the speed of your own attention.
So is it possible? Or does Amazon structurally force you to stay involved in execution?
What do you think?
