We crunched the numbers on Amazon’s new "Reserve Share of Voice." Here is what we found. 📊
Amazon's new Reserve Share of Voice allows you to pay a fixed rate for 100% Top-of-Search placement for branded Sponsored Brands.
But is the fixed rate a good deal?
We analyzed 7 accounts to compare the Reserve price (for December) against the calculated manual spend required to hit the same goal.
The findings:
1️⃣ The Price Gap:
The Reserve Price for "All Keywords" was significantly higher, ranging from 2x to 5x the spend required to hit that same goal via standard bidding.
Note: This accounts for December being a high-demand month compared to the previous 30 days, but the gap is still substantial.
2️⃣ The Sweet Spot:
The numbers changed completely when we filtered for just the Top 25 Keywords. The fixed cost dropped efficiently, making the feature a much more viable option for aggressive brand defense.
This tool can be very helpful for brands that want to ensure they are "always on" without managing daily bid fluctuations. However, the default "All Keywords" setting might come with a heavy premium.
Before you launch, measure this against your own data. Compare the fixed cost against your projected manual spend, and definitely play with the keyword scope.
