Pay to Delay? Noticed that Amazon is now charging $1.99 to delay your delivery. Interesting twist as delaying delivery used to reward consumers with either a digital credit or a certain percent back if you were willing to wait 5+ days.

Now it appears that delayed shipment will cost you $1.99 with no reward option. Usually consumers pay for more for faster delivery not delayed.

It is mentioned as a benefit for gifts, travel, or valuables (isn’t Amazon Locker or Key the option for that).

Maybe this is a way to help with FC inventory levels to encourage faster turnover of getting products out in anticipation of holidays, but curious if the delayed delivery was that impactful for inventory levels. Long shot on trying to get more SnS subscriptions where discount for scheduled deliveries?
