Amazon is quietly reshaping how we measure reach and exposure across ad ecosystem. Over the past few weeks, several new metrics have started appearing in conversion path & other reporting dashboards, like:
Sponsored Brands display frequency
Sponsored Display video frequency
Amazon DSP online video frequency
Sponsored TV and DSP streaming TV frequency
Amazon DSP audio frequency
These new frequency metrics are Amazon’s way of moving toward true cross-channel measurement, giving advertisers visibility into how many times a unique shopper was actually exposed to their brand across ad types, rather than just how many impressions were served.
You can track and balance exposure consistency across Sponsored, DSP, Video, and TV formats, identifying when frequency builds brand recall versus when it slips into overexposure or ad fatigue.
It also has a deduplication layer. These numbers now remove overlap across devices and formats. For example, a shopper who sees your Sponsored Brands video on mobile and DSP display on desktop will now count as a single person, not two.
This update changes how we think about ad saturation and cross-channel efficiency. It’s no longer about “how many clicks,” but “how many meaningful exposures before a sale.”
Advertisers & AM's can use these metrics to rebalance spend between upper and lower funnel campaigns, prevent frequency fatigue on always-on Sponsored Products, and craft sequential storytelling paths across Sponsored Display, DSP, and Streaming TV.
