Amazon Long Term Sales ๐Ÿ‘‰ Do we love it? Do we hate it? Is it in anyway actionable??

My take - Meh.

I don't quite understand what problem LTS is solving??

If anything, I think it is actually perpetuating a problem that Amazon already has.

The problem? Advertisers are skeptical about the sales Amazon is claiming to influence, and now Amazon is asking advertisers to trust reported sales that haven't even happened yet.

If the trust was there, sure. But that's not the POV I am hearing.

Are brands / agencies using this in an actionable way, outside of justifying higher spend being allocated to Amazon?

Let me know ๐Ÿ‘‡

I collected some other view points to round out my post, here are some of the takes -

๐Ÿ”ถ It can help with conversations the same way stronger-than-average NTBr tied to SB/SBV does - lower ROAS, strong NTBr and then strong Long-term sales. Great. But we don't get SP data tied to LTS so now 80-85% of spend is not included in the total picture? Why not pull ASIN, search term, ad type NTBr - get the picture here - and then tie in LTV/margin?

๐Ÿ”ถ If my understanding is correct, LTS combines actual sales with a 365-day projection so any ROAS off it is inflated - the description is "Attributed sales plus the estimated 365-day value of new-to-brand shopper engagements attributed to the campaign". Wouldn't those projected future purchases get attributed AGAIN when they actually happen??

To me this is a forecast dressed up as a performance metric...I don't see a point in using LTS via ad console when we have actual actionable AMC insights
