DSP is now in 56% of Amazon Ads job posts. In April it was 30%.
Everyone wants DSP, and a lot of CVs now say DSP. But in our screening, this is where the gap shows most.
In our screenings, the average DSP score is 60%, against 68% for PPC. In our final interviews, "limited hands-on DSP" is the most common skill gap we write down.
Most of the time the candidate is not lying. They sat near DSP. An agency team or Amazon's managed service ran it, and they saw the reports.
Three questions I ask to check:
1. Did you run the DSP seat yourself, or did someone else?
2. What was the last audience you built, and from what data?
3. How did you show DSP brought new customers, not just people who would buy anyway?
Someone who ran it answers fast and with numbers. Someone who watched it answers in general terms.
If you are hiring for DSP, message me. We test it as its own area.
