Your agency cannot be built around every client request. One client needs advert

Your agency cannot be built around every client request.

One client needs advertising support.

Another wants help with Vendor negotiations.

A third needs someone to lead their Amazon strategy.

Then someone asks about TikTok.

Each request may be a reasonable commercial opportunity, but keep saying yes without a clear direction, and your clients gradually design your agency for you.

Services accumulate.

Roles stretch.

Delivery becomes different for every account.

The founder fills the gaps.

Eventually, you have a busy business whose team cannot clearly explain what it is built to do.

Before adding another service, there is a more useful decision to make.

What kind of Amazon agency are you building?

A 1P consultancy with senior commercial expertise?

A 3P operator delivering dependable account management?

An advertising specialist working alongside the client's internal team?

A strategic partner helping leadership decide where Amazon fits within the wider business?

You can combine capabilities. But the combination needs to be deliberate.

Each model has different requirements for people, pricing, client involvement and delivery.

Senior advice needs access to senior decision makers, functional account management needs clear responsibilities and repeatable execution and a broader offer needs enough specialist depth to support the promise.

These choices should shape the opportunities you pursue and the requests you accept.

Client demand is useful evidence. It can reveal a service worth building.

But before saying yes, ask:

Does this strengthen the agency we want to build?

Can we deliver it consistently and profitably?

What would we need to invest in?

What would it displace?

Sometimes the answer is to develop the capability.

Sometimes it is to bring in a partner.

Sometimes it is to decline.

A clear direction makes all three easier.

If your next five clients each wanted something different, what would keep your agency heading in the same direction?
