It appears I was wrong.
If you've talked to me in the last month or so, you've heard me be pretty pessimistic about this year's holiday season. If you know me, you also know that's not my default way of thinking. But after a mediocre summer Prime Day, an OK August, and a slow September (which we saw in our own data and heard from other people in the industry), I was skeptical about what Prime Big Deal Days would bring.
But unlike when I debate my husband, this is something I'm happy to be wrong about.
Day 1 came in nearly 30% ahead of last year's Big Deal Days Day 1. For context, Day 1 of this year's June Prime Day was up only ~10% over 2025 in Envision Horizons data, and Adobe cited just 5.3% across the broader market. That makes this a massive jump and a positive sign for what we can expect from the US consumer over the next several weeks.
We're still pulling the full picture together, and Ill be sharing our Prime Big Deal Days round-up later this week. There's more in the data than just Day 1, so stay tuned.
