Google's stock fell more than 12% the day after earnings. The reason... consumer habits are changing. AI Mode searches are growing fast, but they earn less than traditional search.

Search is changing. Trust is still the currency.

That's the heart of a recent piece on trust in the AI era: https://lnkd.in/gJuRmvMq

It matches what we found in our 2026 consumer research on TikTok shoppers:

→ 91% of TikTok-discovered shoppers leave the video to verify the purchase somewhere else.

→ Asked who they trust most for an unbiased recommendation, shoppers chose friends and family (38.6%) and Amazon customer reviews (28.5%). An AI assistant got 8.7%. A creator or influencer, 7.2%.

Where people find products keeps changing, but social proof continues to be what converts customers to purchase.

How is your brand adapting to the shifts in discovery and validation to drive sales velocity?
