Yesterday, I got the opportunity to attend OpenAI’s Dev Day.
It was great to take a day and see how technology is progressing outside the commerce space.
Through all the announcements, the theme I kept seeing, is that AI is becoming increasingly available to business users, and more capable for non-coding work.
My favorite example of this was the launch of plugin extensions, which allow other apps to embed native experiences in ChatGPT. That means you can interact with any app visually, without ever leaving ChatGPT.
Using extensions between sessions, I was able to build a custom app on top of the Intentwise MCP complete with performance diagnostics, recommendations, and the ability to take actions in the UI, all within ChatGPT.
I continue to become more convinced that the was operators work will change exponentially in the next 1-2 years.
