🎙️ #1 MR. PRODUCT TITLE KEYWORD STUFFER: Some heroes save lives. Others make absolutely certain every possible shopper search term makes it into the product title. Today, we salute the latter.

We’re kicking off REAL COMMERCE HEROES, a new firstmovr parody series honoring one of my all-time favorite advertising campaigns: Bud Light's Real American Heroes / Real Men of Genius campaign from the late '90s and 2000s.

Those ads had everything I love: music + humor + ridiculous observations about very specific people, basically the ultimate edutainment.

So we decided commerce deserved its own heroes. And where better to start than the brave souls who look at a 75-character product title recommendation and think... “I can fit more.”

Thank you Oskar Kaszubski, Todd Hassenfelt and Scott Ohsman for being my first studio audience over the last few days of recording!

🎵 REAL COMMERCE HEROES #1: MR. PRODUCT TITLE KEYWORD STUFFER

Today we salute you, Mr. Product Title Keyword Stuffer.

Where others just see a product name, you see 200 glorious characters of untapped search potential.

(Use 'em all, baby!)

Brand. Product. Size. Flavor. Four different ways to say “healthy.” If someone could search it, it’s going in there.

(Leave no keyword behind!)

Retailer style guides suggest 75 characters. But style guides don't get you to page one.

(Breaking the rules now!)

So here's to you, oh Titan of the Title Field. To the shopper, it’s the Da Vinci Code, but to the algorithm... it's poetry.

🎙️ Three more Real Commerce Heroes are dropping this week, followed by two new heroes each week until we’ve exhausted every underdog in our industry!

Who deserves to be honored next?

All rights and credit go to their rightful owners.
