I'm not at Cannes Lions this week, but I was up at 3 am EST with the Envision Horizons team supporting Prime Day launch checks.

During one of the most critical and high-stakes moments of the year, where small judgment calls can have an outsized impact on performance, I believe the "graveyard shift" shouldn't fall solely on the account teams. Prime Day readiness is an organization-wide responsibility, which is why our leadership team is in the trenches alongside our client-facing teams.

A few early observations from the first hours of Prime Day:

• Prime Day deal finds have taken over social media feeds. Affiliate and creator partnerships continue to prove their value as discovery channels, especially as CPCs surge during major tentpole events.

• The days of 10–15% discounts being enough appear to be behind us. Many brands showed up with 20–30% discounts—a strategy we've been advocating for several years. In today's environment, meaningful deal depth matters.

• No major surprises around Prime Exclusive Discounts (PEDs). Last year, many brands were caught off guard by Amazon's increased scrutiny around pricing history and retailer pricing. Fortunately, we planned for those changes this year, and all of our PEDs went live without issue.

• Desktop Storefronts experienced outages early on, while mobile remained operational.

• Desktop performance overall was noticeably slower than mobile when deals first launched. We also observed instances where PDP pricing was not displaying correctly for approximately the first hour on some listings.

• Certain search queries were returning the infamous Amazon "Dogs of Amazon" error page, suggesting some early instability within search results.

Thankfully, the Envision Horizons team has had a smooth and successful start to the event. That's not by accident, it's the result of months of planning, team training, refining SOPs based on lessons learned from previous years, our Prime Day kickoff last week, and countless hours of preparation from people across every department and level of the organization. Major events like this are won long before they begin!

Wishing everyone a successful first day of Prime Day!
