Why We Reject Most Candidates in the 1:1 Round

At Pare, we are continuously improving how we hire candidates. Our hiring process begins with analyzing CVs and LinkedIn profiles using our in-house tool, which scores each candidate (1–100) based on defined parameters. Candidates who score above 90 are invited to the 1st round.

1st round is an AI-automated screening where candidates answer 9–10 custom questions covering all aspects of Amazon PPC. After completion, we analyze each response using an internal evaluation tool that assigns a final score (1–10). Candidates scoring above 8 are invited to the 2nd round, which is a face-to-face interview.

Currently, the conversion rate from round 1 to round 2 is around 19%, and from round 2 to the final round (where candidates get listed on Pare), it is just 0.1%. Most drop-offs occur in round 2.

During the face-to-face round, many candidates are filtered out because we start with fundamental PPC concepts covering keyword research, bid optimization, and bidding strategies, and then move toward more strategic topics such as AMC and DSP. This round reveals whether a candidate truly has hands-on experience with Amazon Advertising. Based on their answers and real-time scenarios, it becomes clear who is actively managing accounts versus who is not.

That is what sets us apart from other similar companies. We provide candidates who can begin managing accounts from day one without needing additional training. We also offer weekly learning calls where we share the latest updates and strategies that are working across accounts and markets.
