Amazon has rolled out a new update inside Campaign Manager that can make life a lot easier for advertisers.
On the left hand side, you will now see a dedicated Rules tab. Earlier, you had to go into each campaign to set up rules. Now you can see all active rules in one place and even add new ones directly.
The bigger change is in "Targeting Rules". Until now, rules were mainly about budgets or bids. But with this update, you can automate keyword harvesting from auto campaigns to manual campaigns.
To use that you just need to pick an auto campaign ad group, choose the performance filters you want (like CVR, clicks, or orders) and set your STR conditions. Once done, the system will automatically move those performing keywords or product targets into your manual campaigns. You can even decide the match type and bid level while setting it up.
Every keyword that meets your conditions will directly get added to the manual campaigns where you actually want to bid.
But there are some limits, eg: the rule only applies to ad groups with a single product. So you may need to restructure before using it fully. But once that is done, this feature can save hours of repetitive work and make sure you do not miss out on keywords that are already performing.
