Received an IP claim through buyer message. False claim?

Posted by u/Puzzleheaded-Cap3726

I just received a buyer message claiming that my product infringes his/her IP and demanded me to take down within 48 hours, but did not give any link. The claim did not come through Amazon Trust & Safety.

When i asked for more details like the patent and design IP registration, they replied the following without the requested details:

Please take it down, I’m the lawyer entrusted by them.

You have twenty-four (24) hours from your receipt of this notice to comply fully with these demands.

Otherwise the TRO will arrive within 7 days.

Failure to do so I will leave us with no alternative but to:

File an official intellectual property infringement report with Amazon Trust & Safety;

Pursue all available legal remedies, including but not limited to seeking injunctive relief, damages, and recovery of legal costs.

We trust you will treat this matter with the seriousness it warrants to avoid further legal action.

Should I be concerned or this is some scare tactic?

My product is for wall display. But similar products have been all around on and off Amazon.

Please advise. Thank you.

I ignore those messages. If you have receipts for your products, you can beat an IP if they actually file one.

Should I “report as abuse” or “no further reply” in the buyer message?

Yes we have CAD design files for our product.
