I tried Meta Muse and thought, “ehhh”
I showed my wife and you would’ve thought I handed her an alien.
Same app. Two completely different reactions.
That’s how small our little X & LinkedIn community is.
We spend all day comparing AI tools and debating which model is better, meanwhile 99.99% of the population has yet to experience ai’s capabilities. (*have the desire to even want to experience it)
My wife doesn’t care which model wins. She still thinks ChatGPT is just a fancy Google.
Right now it’s just a fancy toy that she most likely won’t adhere to.
However, my bet is whoever gets people like her to come back tomorrow, next week, and next month has a real shot at winning this expensive race to the bottom.
Right now it’s important to remember that ai isn’t generating new demand. In fact it’s actually doing the opposite from a consumer level. The ones using it are trying to save money and time, spending less $.
Getting someone to say “holy sh*t” once is one thing. Becoming part of their everyday life is a completely different challenge.
And for those of us in ecom, I think we should question the assumption that everyone wants an ai assistant to help them buy more. Will never be the case. You can screenshot this.
Right now all she wants to do is have it return my 10 foot skeleton I put in the front yard 🤣
