Amazon opened its logistics to every business.
Not just sellers.
Today they launched Amazon Supply Chain Services (ASCS).
This is the AWS playbook.
Amazon built servers for itself. Then it sold them. AWS was born.
Amazon built warehouses, trucks, and freight for itself. Now it is selling them. Same move.
P&G ships raw materials on it. 3M moves goods from its factories. Lands' End pools its stock in Amazon's warehouses and ships every channel from there. American Eagle sends its own orders out through Amazon's trucks.
FBA was a trade. You sell on Amazon. You use the warehouses.
Now the warehouses are the product.
The Lands' End piece is the one to watch.
One stock of inventory. Amazon orders and non-Amazon orders. Same boxes. Same shelves.
So the question changes.
It used to be: should I sell on Amazon?
Now it is: should Amazon run my warehouse?
