You’re overspending on branded search on Amazon if you aren’t measuring branded purchase share.

Amazon actually provides you with branded purchase share data

It’s contained in the search query performance report at the keyword level for all brand registered sellers

There are relatively easy and kosher workarounds to get this data as a vendor

Once you’re measuring branded purchase share, you need to experiment with reducing branded spend to determine whether your branded purchase share decreases

If it does, you’re overspending.

Keep reducing until you see diminishing returns (i.e., branded purchase share drops)

If it doesn’t, try pushing spend up and see what happens

We automate measuring this for all our client partners—vendors and seller—through our iDerive platform

We surface branded purchase share right in our platform

If you’re not approaching measuring your branded spend this way, I strongly urge you to try this

You won’t regret it

If you have an agency managing your Amazon ads and they aren’t doing this, they aren’t following best practices…it’s as simple as that

Don’t hesitate to reach out to Nectar or me if you have questions, including if you’re a vendor that wants SQP data
