Stop assuming because your product is organic #1 on Amazon either by bestseller rank or by keyword that your brand is leading the field.

I have seen this mistake COUNTLESS times on Linkedin

The only way you will truly know whether or not your brand is actually successful on Amazon is to know your BRAND SHARE.

How many people buy your products over other brands in search results.

Just being number 1 does not guarantee this.

Being number 1 organically just shows you have sales momentum.

There are 3 ways to measure this:

1️⃣ By ASIN level in Brand analytics

2️⃣ Using Helium10 Xray

3️⃣ You can also look at category share by SmartScout

Here's an example below, if you search for "instant noodles" Amazon choice and number 1 spot goes to Nissin, but the truth is for this search alone - they only take 4.7% of the brand share, whilst a competitor scope 40% and 10x the revenue.

Know your brand share also gives more accurate and predictable competitor analysis because again, its very easy just to compare based solely on ranking.

You need to stop fighting for organic positioning and more for brand share!
