Sudden ROAS Drops Since September?

Posted by u/debbielu23

Any Amazon PPC agencies (or individuals for that matter) seeing sudden ROAS declines for specific clients since September? My API data is showing a dramatic increase in suggested keyword bid ranges, and I can’t tell if Amazon is charging me more or everyone more. The suggested ppc cost increase is dramatic: 5x increased cost that far exceeds what the category should support, up to $5 a click for an average $10-$17 sell price in the category. And the increase is across all keywords not just a few. It’s not making a lot of sense.

sounds frustrating. my client in home goods saw something similar starting in september, the suggested bids tripled almost overnight. i thought it was just their account getting hit with some weird algorithm thing but if it’s happening to others maybe amazon just decided to push the costs up across the board. $5 a click on a $10 item is basically burning money.
