Anyone else's Amazon partnered carrier quote jumping from $50 to $390 for the exact same shipment?

Posted by u/ylishi

Small seller here, about one shipment a month. Last week I booked a shipment with Amazon's partnered carrier and it came to $50. Nothing about the product changed. Same SKU, same carton count, same box dimensions and weight.

This week I recreated the shipment to add one more carton, and the quote came back at $390. Same boxes, same origin, same destination region. That is roughly seven times the price of the shipment I ran days earlier. I have seen posts from other sellers saying their identical shipments went up 600 to 1000 percent, so it does not look like it is only me.

I opened a case and got the usual "the rates are correct" reply with no breakdown. So now I am choosing between shipping it and eating about 340 extra dollars, or cancelling and relabelling the whole thing to move it with a third party carrier and losing my normal pickup window, which pushes my inbound into next week.

Has anyone else hit this in the last couple of weeks? Did it correct itself after a few days, or did you just switch carriers permanently? Anyone else seeing this?

Same for me, identical shipment $50 -> $330. Something must be wrong on their end.

happens sometimes with UPS for us, just try again later or tomorrow and it fixes itself.

It's happening to me as well! Same shipment that I sent a few weeks ago for $43 CAD is now $360. I spoke with the support but as usual they don't have a clue what's going on. The guy told me it's consistent with their pricing lol. There's definitely something going on. Please let us know if you figure it out.

Even if you normally ship SPD (like partnered UPS), the Amazon workflow will sometimes default to LTL and give you a much higher quote to use their freight carriers. Make sure that partnered SPD is selected if that's what you normally use to ship.

Sorry to hear this. You sure you have a minimum of 5 identical boxes packed exactly the same? And you’re not being charged a placement fee?
