We’ve recently spent time with a brand that has a really exciting opportunity on Amazon.
A substantial category, ambitious growth targets and a relatively small internal team.
We had some great conversations about their ambitions, the commercial challenges they were facing and what it would take to achieve them.
We scoped a substantial project proposal - a full commercial strategy, acceleration roadmap and implementation plan.
Including a programme of leadership support to help them navigate a really challenging AVN process.
Ultimately, they decided not to proceed due to internal financial pressures.
I completely understand that.
But it did honestly leave me thinking…
If a business has multimillion-pound growth ambitions, but doesn’t currently have the expertise or resources to deliver them, how does it bridge that gap?
And when finances are under pressure, how do you weigh the cost of investing against the potential cost of delaying growth?
I’d be genuinely interested to hear how other business leaders approach this. Especially in today’s challenging economic times.
