I brought 3 dogs to a networking event in San Diego.
Turns out it wasn't exactly a dog-friendly event, let me explain.
My boy Jonah Peake πΊ has been putting together some awesome events connecting REAL builders in San Diego.
And by real builders, I mean people actually building businesses.
Not just putting "entrepreneur" in their LinkedIn bio.
He invited me to his Howl-O-Ween event last night.
Told me to "make sure you bring your squad."
Naturally, I told him I'd bring all the dogs.
He responded with a bunch of dog emojis.
Perfect. We're on the same page.
So I spend the next week scrambling to find 4 dog costumes, figuring out how the hell I'm going to transport all these animals because apparently Uber isn't built for a small dog army.
Eventually I pay my friend to drive us there and back.
We pull up.
I walk in.
And I quickly realize two things.
I'm the only person who brought a dog.
I didn't bring one dog. I brought THREE. In costumes.
IT WASN'T EVEN A DOG EVENT.
Apparently "bring your squad" meant bring your friends... my bad.
Still had a blast, met some great people, and the dogs turned out to be pretty solid networking wingmen.
Also, people love saying LA is where all the real builders in California are.
I disagree. San Diego has some seriously talented people doing cool stuff, and Jonah's doing a great job bringing them together.
Moral of the story: bring your dogs to networking events. Apparently it works.
Happy Fridayyyyyyyyy πΊ
