Last week we held the first ever ๐ช๐๐๐ ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฎ ๐ฆ๐๐บ๐บ๐ถ๐ in Kerala.
Easily the most humbling and rewarding moment of my career.
Over the past seven years we've grown WAKE to over 40 people.
We're a highly specialised remote team split 50/50 between the UK and India.
Most of our India team worked at Amazon before joining us, in departments including catalogue, financial operations and data.
Building a remote team has had its challenges.
One of them?
This was our chance to go beyond the trust we've built over many thousands of hours on camera and get to know the personalities that make WAKE tick.
The biggest surprise? How well we all got on.
Years of working thousands of miles apart... and yet we think about the work in almost exactly the same way.
It was a truly emotional experience for me to see our team come together in three dimensions rather than two.
Thank you to Suraj Thomas and JOJO TOM for making it happen and to Helen Robinson Danielle Thompson, Christopher Shelton and Harry Allen for representing the UK team.
Expect a few more posts on this, thanks to our photographers, who took over 14,000 photos ๐คฆโ๏ธ
