Prime Big Deal Days ended eight days ago.
Day 8 is where most Q4 plans quietly break.
Not during the event.
In the middle of the recovery.
Here is what day 8 usually looks like.
The deal badge is gone.
Full-price conversion hasn't fully returned.
Organic rank is still wobbling on the hero terms.
ACOS looks worse than it did in September.
So someone in the meeting says:
"Let's pull bids until things settle."
That is the move that turns a 14-day dip into a six-week rank problem.
Half the recovery data is not a trend.
It is a mood.
On day 8 we do not make structural changes.
We check three things and leave the rest alone:
→ Full-price CVR on the hero SKU versus the four weeks before the event. Within 80% and climbing, we hold.
→ Organic rank on the top five non-branded terms. If rank and impression share are falling together, that is the one place bids go up, not down.
→ Search terms that only converted with the badge on. They move out of exact into a capped discovery bucket. They were never your terms.
Everything else waits until day 14.
Last year a household account cut bids 30% on day 9 after the October event.
Rank on two category terms slid four positions.
Buying them back in November cost more than the cut saved in October.
A similar account held bids flat through day 14.
Rank recovered by day 12.
Nobody had to buy anything back.
Same event.
Same kind of catalog.
Different patience.
Black Friday is six weeks out.
The rank you protect this week is the rank you defend at Black Friday prices.
The rank you give away this week, you buy back at Black Friday prices.
Do not let day 8 make a day 30 decision.
Hold the line.
Read it on day 14.
