In November, Friday afternoon is when we set the weekend plan for every account.
What we’re watching.
What would trigger a change.
Who is responsible for making it.
Q4 weekends can turn into a series of disconnected decisions.
Someone opens the app on Saturday.
Sees ACOS up on one campaign.
Cuts the bid.
On Sunday, someone else raises it back.
By Monday, the team is trying to understand why both changes happened.
A Friday review gives everyone a shared plan before that happens.
Each account owner works through six questions:
Is anything preventing sales? Inventory issues, suppressions, or Buy Box loss get immediate attention, including over the weekend.
Which campaigns are running out of budget? We review whether additional spend supports the account’s goals and set the budget rules before the weekend.
Which search terms need action? We review spend, conversions, and attribution before deciding what to negate or keep watching.
Have CPCs moved materially on our priority terms? We check the impact on efficiency and sales, then define when a bid adjustment is warranted.
What events, promotions, or inventory changes are coming? The weekend plan needs to reflect what we expect demand to do.
What should trigger a weekend intervention, and who owns it? Budget limits, performance thresholds, automated rules, and escalation responsibilities should all be clear.
Each answer ends with an action, a monitoring threshold, or a documented reason to leave things unchanged.
Monitoring continues through the weekend. When a threshold is crossed or a new issue appears, the designated owner acts.
Routine changes that can wait go onto Monday’s review list, with a reason attached.
That gives the team room to respond without having several people make conflicting changes to the same account.
It also makes time off more predictable. Whoever is covering knows what to watch, when to act, and when to escalate.
A calm weekend takes preparation.
Before you log off Friday, make sure the next person watching the account knows the plan.
