I think we’re making Claude harder than it needs to be.
Most people are still chasing the perfect prompt.
I did the same for a while.
Then I realised something.
Better results didn’t come from finding the right words.
They came from giving Claude the right context.
The actual PDF.
The spreadsheet.
The presentation I’m working on.
An earlier version of the work.
The instructions I repeat every week.
With the right material in front of it, even a simple prompt can go a long way.
That’s why I’ve started using Claude Projects, Skills and connected tools more often.
Instead of explaining everything from scratch each time, I can provide the context once, save the process and reuse it whenever I need it.
One small habit has also made a noticeable difference.
Before starting a task, I tell Claude to ask me any questions it needs answered first.
It helps catch missing information before it turns into another disappointing first draft.
For me, this is when AI becomes genuinely useful at work.
Not when you master prompt engineering.
But when you stop treating every conversation like a blank slate.
The prompt tells AI what to do.
The context helps it understand how to do it well.
Where are you still explaining the same things to AI over and over again?
