You’re not necessarily working too much.

You might just be working the old way.

Last week, I saw a team spend six hours creating a presentation that an AI tool rebuilt in less than three minutes.

Same core message.

Cleaner design.

A fraction of the effort.

That should make us uncomfortable.

Because plenty of professionals are still spending hours on work AI can already handle faster:

Writing first drafts

Cleaning up meeting notes

Building presentations

Editing short videos

Scanning through news and research

The issue isn’t a lack of intelligence.

It’s how quickly we adapt to new ways of working.

AI is no longer something to test on the side.

For many roles, it is becoming part of the basic toolkit.

People who build AI into their everyday workflows can produce more without simply adding more hours to their day.

People who ignore it are increasingly competing against processes that are faster by design.

A better way to think about work:

● Automate repeatable production

● Let AI handle the first pass

● Keep human judgement where it matters

● Spend less time formatting and more time thinking

● Make AI part of the workflow, not a separate experiment

● Track what gets produced per hour, not just hours worked

The question isn’t simply whether AI will replace your job.

A more useful question is whether you’re still spending hours on work a machine can finish before your coffee gets cold.
