Amazon Is Giving AI Agents Permission to Work Inside Seller Central

Amazon is moving Seller Assistant from an AI helper toward an operating layer that can monitor seller accounts and take approved actions.

→ What Changed

Seller Assistant now supports persistent memory and automated workflows for areas such as inventory, pricing, and account health.

Amazon also introduced a Selling Partner plugin for Amazon Quick and Anthropic’s Claude, giving these AI tools access to real-time seller data and the ability to perform actions with seller approval.

→ Why It Matters

AI is moving from answering seller questions to participating in account management.

This could reduce repetitive monitoring, but it also puts more emphasis on permissions and controls around areas such as pricing, inventory, and account health.

→ What Sellers Should Do

Start with read-only and recommendation workflows.

Before allowing automated actions, define clear limits and keep human review in place for higher-impact decisions.

→ Bigger Picture

Marketplace management is moving toward agent-based operations, making control over what AI can access and do increasingly important.
