Andrej Karpathy just released a post and below is the summary. Very interesting findings.

He revisits his April 2026 post on the AI capability understanding gap, now calling it a sharp funnel where most of the world’s 8B people have minimal or low-tier LLM exposure while a tiny elite sees explosive progress.

• The tiers break down as: ~6B with barely any contact, 1-2B casual free-tier users seeing derpy chatbots, ~20M technical professionals witnessing agents complete weeks-long projects in minutes, and ~5K with internal frontier access observing agent swarms tackling cyber operations, science, and math at superhuman scales.

• Funnel drivers include problem ambition and scale, capability jaggedness favoring verifiable digital domains like code and math due to RL training and revenue focus, plus tiered access levels creating simultaneous but disconnected realities.

I am seeing this exact same thing in the Amazon space and how those close to this industry.
