Finally home 😍
I’ve not been in the office since September 10th and have spent 3 nights at my flat since then 😅.
My lovely girlfriend and I met 5 years ago today… Twas quite the first date, which I think I’ve explained to a fair few of you, and with every year that goes by I think I look less cool or come out of the story as the ‘baddy’. Then I remember the part she played in that origin story 😂. All I’ll share for today is there was a geezer sat in the pub in an octopus costume.
She’s been incredibly supportive of everything I’ve tried to do since we met and has been the perfect partner for all the fun, strange, peculiar and unconventional things I put my mind to and decide are the most important thing ever. What a gal 😍
Anyway I hope she likes airport souvenirs 🤝.
Got the tube and train home as I’m sooooo man of the people and all that and didn’t want to keep ramping up expenses and may make my midnight salad, chocolate bar and 5 packets of crisps expense be less questioned.
Weekend won’t slow down though.
Anniversary dinner this evening, I’m sure she’s booked somewhere nice.
Then my sisters band album launch party tomorrow in Brighton - if any of you Brighton folks are around and want to hang on a Saturday 😍.
Funny thing about this band is…. It’s pretty similar to the band I used to be in with my sister.
I’ll explain how.
Same sister.
Same guitarist, my friend who I brought into the band
Same drummer
They absolutely play some of the same songs.
Same song writer (although I wrote all the bangers)
There’s just now a second singer (don’t say backing singer) who’s not me.
BUT the name is different, so it’s a TOTALLY different band I reckon.
Haven’t got enough characters to explain how I found out I wasn’t in the band anymore. It’s pretty brutal 😭.
Maybe I’ll tell the story at the next Amazon community event 😂
Anyway my Gran, mum, sisters and their kids will be there as well, so at least there’ll be other people to boo them with!
Feel free to join me and bring some gladiators style huge foam thumbs we can all point down at them!
Then the jet lag - well I hear a good cure is exercise.
Which is funny as I think I did 9 work outs over the last 2 weeks and never felt I fully had the time zone down. But I’ll try a few over the weekend I hope.
Then Sunday, might get a roast I reckon. Might not though.
AND Try and do some crootin and make sure I can approach next week with the Vim and Vizz of a young Pat Murray who was once the second singer (don’t say backing singer, don’t say Bez) of an upcoming indie-pop band.
Sorry I can’t speak to the people I promised I would speak to today…
Need to film me handing over some airport souvenirs and her reaction so I can have some viral LinkedIn posts for next week 🤝. Just need some cheesey and heartfelt song suggestions to put over it.
