#Amazon has gone from 10 chargeback types to over 40 and most brands haven't updated how they track or dispute them, Direct Import included!
So I sat down with Hannah Blackburn from The Hawkers Club for the latest edition of the Digital Deep Dive Newsletter to chat on chargebacks and Amazon vendor profitability.
A few things worth knowing right now:
- There are two separate chargeback reports in Vendor Central and most brands are only pulling one of them.
- If your finance team keeps flagging margin issues your chargebacks don't seem to explain, that's probably why.
- If you're a DI vendor, new confirmation charges went live in October right at the start of Q4. Worth getting ahead of that before it hits your cost model.
- About 70% of chargebacks are recoverable if disputed correctly. The brands not actively working this are just leaving that money behind every month.
