Early on we made a bold decision to invest in our people
I remember my first intern Katie.
When I hired her she didn't know anything about amazon.
All she knew was that she’d buy stuff on there sometimes.
We were growing fast. I was wearing a lot of hats at the time, I took the time to train her myself
The thing with interns is you don't make money off them to start
At the end of the day, the value an intern brings is because of how you train them.
It really helps determine the end result
There's a lot of intern programs that are kind of basic.
We have a process to bring you in to learn and be full time employee can teach you enough to be awesome with us.
Katie was our test subject, she passed with flying colors.
She did everything at our company, from intern to ads management to brand strategy, and even some sales at one point in time.
We didn't keep it narrow, and she learned a lot more. Love you, Katie!
