I thought AI would make us work faster.
I was wrong.
It didn't just speed up our work.
It made parts of our work unnecessary.
That's when things became uncomfortable.
After reading thousands of pages of research from McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Deloitte, IBM, and Accenture, one idea kept showing up:
The real cost of AI isn't the technology.
It's the willingness to change.
Most companies don't struggle because AI is difficult.
They struggle because changing how people work is.
So they take the safer path.
They keep the same processes.
Add AI on top.
And hope for transformation.
But transformation doesn't work that way.
You can't build the future on top of outdated systems.
Sometimes the old way has to disappear before the new one can create real value.
Deloitte found that many organizations still haven't redesigned their workflows.
IBM points to the same conclusion: AI delivers the biggest impact when companies rethink their operating model, not just their tools.
What worked for us?
We stopped asking, "How does AI fit into our current process?"
We started asking, "If AI existed from day one, would we build this process the same way?"
Meetings became shorter or disappeared.
Handoffs were removed.
Decisions happened faster.
Repetitive work was automated instead of optimized.
It wasn't just about efficiency.
It was about elimination.

AI forces every business to make a choice:
Protect the way you've always worked.
Or reinvent how work gets done.
The companies that win won't necessarily have the best AI.
They'll be the ones most willing to redesign the way they operate.
