I use Claude every day.
But also people building with AI are sleeping on Codex.
We switched the rest of our dev workflow from Claude to Codex recently. (I personally had already been using Codex for quite some time on my side.)
The reason wasn't hype. Codex was finding bugs Claude missed entirely.
Better at tracing connections across the codebase. And it will likely end up dropping our monthly AI spend as a nice bonus.
Now with GPT-5.5 out and Images 2.0 just dropping last week, the gap is getting harder to ignore.
I'm not saying ditch Claude. I use it constantly for strategy, thinking through problems.
But if you're actually trying to build something or automate a workflow, debug code, ship a feature, Codex deserves a real look.
Most people dismiss it because they tried it once six months ago.
It's not that tool anymore.
