Amazon is changing how shoppers leave seller feedback.
And it’s going to shake things up a bit.
Starting August 4, buyers can leave a star rating without writing anything. That means more ratings will show up, and most will stay.
Right now, brands using FBA can get negative feedback removed with a few clicks. But soon, if there’s no written comment, there’s no way to remove it. Even for FBA orders.
Here’s what that means:
• Average seller ratings will go down
• Resellers and FBM sellers will take the biggest hit
• Most brand-owned accounts using FBA won’t feel much impact since customers tend to trust ordering directly from the brand
In fact, this change might help brands. Lower ratings make it harder for resellers to win the Buy Box. That gives more control back to the brand.
If you’re selling your own products through FBA, this is mostly good news.
If you rely on resellers or FBM, it’s time to clean up operations or risk losing sales.
This is Amazon, and changes keep coming fast. Make sure you're ready.
