#Rufus doesn't care about Page 1 of Search.

Which may be good news if you're a challenger brand who's trying to break through, and bad news if you're the category incumbent.

Based on analysis 4,990+ products, Profitero+ learned:

⚫ Only 22% of products on page 1 of search also appeared in Rufus results

➡️ Even high-ranking products aren’t guaranteed visibility. Rufus is extremely selective, surfacing only a small fraction of what Amazon’s algorithm ranks highest.

⚫ 36% of products recommended by Rufus weren’t even on page 1

➡️ Rufus isn’t just echoing the search engine. It pulls products outside page-1 visibility—suggesting it’s optimizing for perceived relevance, not just rank.

We still don’t know how this truly impacts sales, but it signals a future where brands must optimize for both #SEO and #GEO — with #AI visibility emerging as a new #digitalshelf metric.
