Amazon walked back their variation theme removal approach.
Original plan: Remove all deprecated themes Sept 2-Nov 30 Updated plan: Only remove themes with zero sales in 12 months
What this means for you:
Critical themes (size, color, style) are safe
Existing variations keep operating normally
Much smaller impact than first announced
Still worth auditing your themes
This is a good reminder that Amazon's initial announcements often get refined.
The key is having systems to adapt quickly either way.
