There is a lot of chatter about adding decorative elements to your main images, packaging, and other design elements that turn your main image into a Christmas tree.
But we have realized those do not work that often. Yes, they can win polls sometimes, but when uploaded to SC Manage Experiments, for some reason, they were failing.
That's why we now prioritize clarity over anything else. Is your main image clearly displaying the product in the best manner possible? That is the first question I ask myself when I assess the main images we submit.
Yes, you can still make it POP by enhancing certain elements. But start with a clear product image - it also helps with conversions. Do not mislead your audience by dressing up your bad product image; instead, show them what the product actually is. Invest in good product photography or renders (start with that).
