Amazon's Sustainable Packaging Initiative came to save you some money 📦🌿
The Ships in Product Packaging (SIPP) program, formerly known as Ships in Own Container (SIOC), is now open for enrollment through Seller Central, and it's set to help reduce the costs for shipping over North America and Europe.
But what is this program about? 👩🏫
SIPP allows FBA sellers to ship products in custom-branded packaging without an Amazon-added box or materials.
This means you can enhance the customer experience by reducing excess packaging, minimizing waste, and potentially lowering the carbon footprint of your shipments.
So basically, it's a win-win for both your business and the environment (consider that on your marketing campaigns) 😉
And it is even more relevant when you consider one of the significant advantages of SIPP ... the potential FBA fulfillment fee reduction.
Products that are SIPP-certified can enjoy discounted fees based on size and weight, and if your products were certified before this launch, you'll automatically benefit from reduced fees.
The packaging must pass a simple physical performance test to obtain the certification and the fee reduction 🔨🚫 Products like hazardous or dangerous goods are excluded from SIPP.
Are you thinking about enrolling in the SIPP?
