Finally got access to Amazon’s seller AI assistant… and all I got was a policy reminder and a polite shrug.
5 things I thought Project Amelia would do but... nope (at least for now)
Predict my Q4 inventory better than I do
Whisper secret insights about why my ASIN disappeared
Solve stranded inventory like magic
Cancel my meetings with Seller Support
Literally anything besides reading policy back to me
Say hello (again) to Project Amelia, Amazon’s AI-powered assistant for sellers.
Six months ago, Amazon teased us with a big promise: a smart AI that could help us forecast sales, manage inventory, prep for seasonality, and answer account questions 24/7. The dream? A Rufus-level assistant for sellers.
And now that I finally got access…
Let’s just say Amelia is still in training.
Right now, it’s basically a well-mannered chatbot that repeats Amazon policy in better grammar. That’s it. No forecasting. No action-taking. Just light guidance.
So what’s the point?
Here’s what I think is really happening:
Project Amelia isn’t about giving us tools yet
It’s about Amazon training its own seller-facing AI
Using our questions, behaviors, and patterns to build the next generation of automation
And once it's ready, it could change everything.
Because if Rufus is reshaping how customers shop… Amelia could reshape how we sell.
💡 What’s the future vision?
A backend AI that:
• Knows your business
• Spots issues before you do
• Solves compliance problems fast
• Connect the dots between policies and listings
But today?
We’re still in phase one. The groundwork.
So no, it’s not your assistant just yet. But it’s watching, learning, and probably logging every question we ask.
And when that next version rolls out?
Expect less helpdesk, more co-pilot.
What do you think? Is Project Amelia just another bot with better branding?
