AMAZON'S PPC SYSTEM HAS A MAJOR FLAW — AND SELLERS ARE PAYING THE PRICE!
If you're running Amazon campaigns, you might have noticed this: ASIN Targeting ads aren't just targeting ASINs anymore.
Amazon has been showing ads from ASIN Targeting campaigns on keywords, and this is showing up more and more in Search Term reports.
While some may argue this adds value, I believe it defeats the purpose. ASIN Targeting campaigns are meant to target ASINs, not keywords.
We already have Keyword Targeting campaigns for that!
But here's the real issue:
In ASIN Targeting campaigns, you can only negate ASINs — NOT keywords.
This creates a serious problem.
If Amazon is showing your ASIN Targeting ads on irrelevant or underperforming keywords, you have no way to negate them! This can lead to wasted ad spend and inefficiencies.
Amazon needs to give advertisers the ability to add negative keywords in ASIN Targeting campaigns. This isn't just a nice-to-have feature. I hope it is in the works.
Are you noticing the same issue? What are your thoughts? I'd love to hear if you're seeing more keywords pop up in your ASIN Targeting campaign reports!
