Amazon's Industrial Innovation Fund is a $1 billion venture.
They invest in technologies to transform their operations.
This can be anything from robotic systems to AI-powered solutions.
Some of the recent investments include Rightbot (automated container unloading) and Instock (builds robotic storage systems for smarter inventory management).
This year, Amazon launched the Innovation Challenge program.
Their hope is to “...uncover, elevate, and accelerate groundbreaking technologies addressing real-world challenges in our industry.”
How do they plan to do this?
📦 Packaging Visibility: Streamlined solutions for inventory insights without slowing operations.
🚚 Yard Orchestration: Optimizing truck flows to reduce congestion at Middle Mile Sort Centers.
Companies tapped to help with this initiative include Spectrohm, Elementary, ThruWave, Rabot, Cambridge Terahertz, Lumafield, Velostics, Omnix, and EAIGLE.
We’ll see how this goes. Hopefully, it will clean up the system a bit more so that sellers don’t take hits when Amazon’s delivery fails.
