Amazon shuts down Posts to prevent feature bloat. Smart platforms must eliminate features as often as they add them, avoiding the dysfunction of feature creep.

Amazon Posts is no more. Here's the deeper truth about the end of Amazon posts:

Amazon knows that you can't continually create features on your platform. You have to also kill them. They're right.

This is true even when something is performing pretty well. Or has a lot of benefits to keeping. If you just keep adding features and you're afraid to kill things, you end up with a mess.

They're a name for the sickness companies get when they can only add, never cut: It's called "feature creep".

Creation and Destruction are intertwined and denying either is dysfunction.

Good decision Amazon. Leaves room for something better.
