Amazon is pushing more on DSP.
When you hear DSP, you might think of advertising and reaching audiences. However, Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner (DSP) program is an entirely different game focused on product delivery, empowering small businesses, and creating jobs.
Well, for this one, Amazon has just announced a $2.1 billion investment in its DSP program, bringing the total to $12.3 billion over the past six years.
Since 2018, the DSP program has empowered over 4,400 small business owners to create 390,000 driving jobs and generate a combined $58 billion in revenue, allowing Amazon to provide faster deliveries in general.
Here is the plan for DSP
✨ Rate Card Increases: Amazon will invest an additional $660 million next year to help DSPs raise wages and benefits, increasing the average driver pay to $22 per hour (a 7% increase from last year).
🔧 AI-Powered Tools: Use machine learning to make routes safer and more efficient for drivers. For example, in hot summer months, environmental data helps adjust routes, ensuring drivers can take necessary breaks.
💡 Safety & Support: New safety programs, training, and other support to help DSPs thrive and reliably deliver millions of packages.
As we prepare for the holiday rush, Amazon is clearly committed to supporting small business owners and their teams like never before.
What stands out to me is that this isn’t just about better treatment for DSP drivers; it’s also about improving processes and efficiency and ultimately having better connections with Amazon customers.
