❗ MEGA Amazon AI Update! 🚨
If there's one takeaway from Amazon's Accelerate conference, it's that AI is the future of the Amazon ecosystem.
More specifically, Rufus (woof). Yes, he's the cute dog that helps customers make purchasing decisions. But where does he get his information?
Well, I'm glad you asked. Rufus is hungry for DATA and this is where Rufus is sniffing around to find it:
➡ Listing title, bullets, description, back-end search terms, and technical details. Leave no stone unturned. Tools like Jungle Scout and Data Dive have really changed the game here. There is no excuse for leaving anything empty on the backend of your listing.
➡ Picture data (yes, Amazon reads the text inside your infographic images!)
➡ Customer reviews: Audit your reviews regularly and submit removal requests for any requests that are related to FBA delivery issues. Also, track trends to make sure Rufus doesn't start mentioning quality issues originating from your factory. Basically, don't let Rufus start defaming your brand for something you can solve.
➡ Community Q&As: This one is simple. Stay on top of these and make sure your answers are NOT quick blurbs. Instead, use up as much space as possible to cram as much information as you can.
➡ Amazon Posts: Yes, I see you. You still haven't touched these, have you? That changes today. Start feeding Rufus endless lines of data with a post a day. Rufus will be very happy and so will you. This is a great task for your VA. A post a day keeps Rufus happy, happy, happy!
➡ ALT text for your A+ images (Did you know that Amazon allows you to add up to 100 characters of ALT text? This is a criminally underrated SEO hack and very few talk about it. I know it's a pain to update these for large catalogs but you will thank me and Rufus will be given an extra special treat!)
It's time to audit each of these and make sure that Rufus is sharing the most accurate information possible with potential customers. The last thing you want is to have Rufus make educated guesses. AI will get there but we are in inning 1 and AI cannot be trusted yet.
The future is RELEVANCE when it comes to how your products are ranked on Amazon. Rufus is already starting to promote products depending on how and what the customer is asking.
💡 Test, test, test!
Let's assume you sell keyboards. You need to self-audit and pose questions to Rufus to see how he responds. Here are a few examples:
-How long does the battery last?
-Does it have any USB slots?
-What's a review summary from customers?
-Does it offer a warranty?
If any of the answers miss the mark, make sure you add the info somewhere on your listing.
Don't even think about fighting Rufus. Embrace this colossal change while your competition is asleep at the wheel.
