Has #Amazon rejected your cost price increase (CPI)? It's not your Vendor Manager's fault...
The numbers simply don't support your business case:
❌ RRPs/MSRPs don't adjust with your CPI
❌ Your ASP has seen low to no growth at all
❌ You use qualitative arguments to justify the CPI
❌ 3P Sellers undercut Amazon and win the Buy Box
❌ Amazon sources your items from other 1P vendors
As a price follower, Amazon doesn't care about your 'national' cost increase.
Vendor Managers only care about whether you can demonstrate that the cost increase won't negatively impact their Net PPM.
So what should you do? (Spoiler alert: it’s not pointing fingers)
✅ Use data-arguments to justify the cost increase
✅ Offer Amazon a bulk buy at the old cost price
✅ Update RRPs/MSRPs with all national retailers
✅ Communicate clear deadlines
✅ Have a Plan B (stop confirming orders, sell items via 3P/FBA)
Yes, Amazon (like all retailers) want to delay your cost increase as much as possible. But you also have to deliver realistic arguments to make your case.
