People ask me and Sam Waller all the time:

"What does RHINO actually test?"

"What does RHINO AI do?"

Two fair questions. Here is the straight answer.

RHINO is an automated visual accessibility testing engine built specifically for digital commerce but it now extends beyond that too.

It evaluates your visuals:

- Mobile-ready hero images

- PDP Gallery Secondary images

- Retailer media and sponsored search thumbnail results

- Meta ad banners and static social posts

- Custom formats, Point of Sale (POSM), A+ content, and

- Physical front-of-pack design.

How?

By running your visual assets through APCA contrast standards and the University of Cambridge CamCAST 4-dimensional visual clarity algorithm.

No other readability tester has a 4 dimensions

1. CONTRAST

2. TEXT HEIGHT

3. STROKE WIDTH (boldness)

4. CASE (ALL CAPS vs Sentence Case, lowercase and 123 Numerals)

We test whether a human eye can instantly read the critical text in a split-second scroll.

Right now, brands face a perfect storm:

1. An ageing population with declining eyesight across Western markets.

2. Mobile dominating as the primary surface for Digital Commerce, Social Commerce, and Agentic Commerce.

3. Fast-scrolling, screen-first shopper behaviour where you get less than a second to land brand, format, variant, and count.

Most brand guidelines still fail to design for all 4 shelves:

1. Physical Shelf

2. Digital Shelf

3. LLM Agentic Shelf

4. Social Shelf

Brands are scrabbling to be "machine-readable" but aren't human-eye readable on mobile or in LLM results.

If your packaging or digital asset fails contrast, it fails glance readability.

And unreadable content does not convert.

We have proven in AB tests: Readability Drives Revenue.

Are your creative teams still approving packs and assets on 32-inch monitors, or testing them for the 4 shelves your shoppers actually use?

DM me or Sam to test your brand assets in RHINO and see what your shoppers actually see.
