A 3-star review can give the right customer a reason to buy.
Imagine someone reviews a pillow and says it’s too firm.
They wanted something soft. They’re disappointed.
Another shopper is looking for a firm pillow because every soft one they’ve bought goes flat.
The same review gives that customer confidence to buy.
This is why I don’t think brands should treat every negative review as damage that needs to disappear.
Sometimes the customer is describing a defect.
Sometimes they’re describing a preference your product was never designed to satisfy.
Read closely enough to understand which one you’re dealing with.
If people consistently complain that your product is heavy, firm, strongly scented, or more complicated than they expected, look at how you’re presenting those characteristics.
Are they obvious before purchase?
Would someone who dislikes those things know to choose something else?
At TraceFuse®, our work focuses on reviews that violate Amazon’s guidelines. Legitimate feedback has a place, including feedback you don’t enjoy reading.
And it can help you explain your product more clearly.
If your pillow is deliberately firm, say so before someone has to discover it in a 3-star review.
